If ever a driver were thinking about turning some laps at Raceway Park the next two weeks are just the time two do it.

For any of our five IMCA divisions that has 20 cars or more check in, those drivers will receive free pit admission the following week.

“We want offer an incentive to the drivers that have been racing with us and the ones that have been wanting to come over and try Raceway Park out,” Raceway Park promoter Greg Golden said. “We want to say thank you to the drivers and good racing to the fans.”

The track will also celebrate Mother’s Day on Sunday with the first 200 moms through the gate receiving a carnation. This will also be the first of two appearances by the Good Ol’ Time Racing Association.

“It is the old vintage coups,” Golden said. “It is a neat way to see some of the throwback to where some of the racing started. Some of these kids and people that are racing today might have had a grandfather that raced one of these coups.”

The second appearance by the GOTRA will come on Father’s Day.

Golden said he is hoping for more racing like he saw last week.

“We only had three cautions out of five divisions so the guys have been putting on some really good racing,” he said. “When I looked up many times guys were three abreast and the track was smooth.”

General admission is $12 with those 6-16 and seniors 65 and over getting in for $5. Gates open at 5 p.m. with racing starting at 7 p.m.
