The Baker Family and Raceway Park will present the 2nd Annual Tom Baker Memorial Night Sunday, August 21st featuring the Nebraska Modified Lites.

Tom’s wife Helen has donated $800 to put towards the MOPAR IMCA Sportmods. The Sportmod feature will now pay $500 to win. Sportmod payout: 2. $250; 3. $200; 4. $175; 5. $150; 6. $140; 7. $130; 8. $120; 9. $115; 10. $105. Tom would help out anyone that needed it, either with parts or just his time. Tom loved racing and put together a race team of Sportmods which were driven by Kirk Beatty and Rich Headed.

Keith and Matt Baker have donated over 6 foot trophies for the night.

We will be running all 5 IMCA divisions: Total Motors IMCA Modifieds, Casey’s General Stores IMCA Stockcars, MOPAR IMCA Sportmods, CarQuest IMCA Hobbystocks and the KISS 107.1 IMCA Sport Compacts.

We will also be running the Nebraska Modified Lites. Nebraska Modified Lites Racing Series (a.k.a. Dwarf) cars are 5/8 scale models of Modified race cars. They have full steel roll cages, sheet metal bodies, and are powered by 4-cylinder motorcycle engines between 750cc and 1250cc. They have full racing suspensions and are capable of speeds over 100mph on the straightaways. With their size and quickness, they are perfectly suited to oval track racing. Modified Lite cars are “real” race cars, not go-karts. With advances in suspension, Modified Lite cars achieve speeds similar to the fastest full sized cars.

Mike & Mary Cooper and Dave & Ricki Boettcher will be giving away 8 bicycles. There will also be a candy toss at intermission. The Baker Family would like to thank these special friends of the family and everyone who helped with this event.

We will be running the Quick Pick Big Wheel Racing Series and Ditzy the Clown will be on hand doing all her fun and wacky activities for the kids.

Fun and affordable for the whole family; General Admission $10, Kids 10 and under free, seniors 70 and older free. Gates open 5pm with Racing at 6:30pm.

Tell your friends and neighbors, grab the kids and head on out to Raceway Park Sunday night. Raceway Park is located just 10 miles north of Sioux City, IA; I-29 to exit 4,then 0.2 mile east to SR 105 then 1.7 mile north (on the west side of SR 105).
